Job Description The Shop Manager is responsible for acting as a liaison between the John Matouk & Co. corporate team, and department store management to ensure business growth and development. The Shop Manager is responsible for achieving store sales and maximizing profitability through effective management of store team, and by monitoring and tracking sales, sales trends, and stock levels. The Shop Manager is also responsible for ensuring an excellent customer shopping environment.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Sales Generation • Meet/exceed established sales goals as set by Matouk Sales Director • Analyze sales reports to determine needs of the business and set business strategies • Set individual sales goals for sales associates, ensuring alignment with store business goals • Develop events/incentives that will continue to grow the customer base, with particular emphasis on building local market • Track special and custom orders to ensure completion and customer satisfaction. • Act as Matouk “expert” and resource for Bloomingdales Domestics Department. • May need to use Bloomingdale's POS system and ordering platforms as needed.
Leadership & Management • Demonstrate sales leadership for staff by playing an active role on the selling floor • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the merchandise and ensure selling staff is fluent in all aspects of product knowledge. • Support the development of associates’ sales techniques and continuously motivate sales staff to meet assigned goals • Ensure all associates provide the highest level of customer service. • Maintain constant communication with National Sales Director regarding business updates, challenges, questions and issues. • In addition to the bedding shop, Shop Manager will assist in training bath shop and down (utility) associates as needed.
Visual Merchandising • Implement and maintain a cohesive and neat selling floor based on visual guides and merchandising directives. • Ensure the selling floor consistently reflects the correct visual image at all times. • Partner with logistics, product teams and supervisor to ensure appropriate assortment for the store. • Identify and communicate product concerns in a timely manner • Communicate inventory needs to support the business goal. • Manage stock room and keep track of selling tools such as order forms, swatches.
NY Showroom and Shows • Work at the Javits Convention Center during peak periods as needed • Assist with NY NOW setup as needed • Provide customer service in booth during shows as needed • Assist with display and merchandising in the NY and/ or ATL showroom as needed
Qualification Requirements: • 3-5 years of prior experience managing a luxury environment. • Dynamic interpersonal skills, both verbal and written. • Solid independent work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. • Excellent time management skills. • Shop Manager must adhere to Bloomingdales’ Dress Code while in store.
Employment will be contingent upon Bloomingdale's approval.
