Job Description
Columbus Motor Company is a growing Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealer in Columbus, NE looking for a Full time
Automotive Technician. This position will perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas, in addition to being specialized in particular areas of repair. This job requires manufacturer Chrysler Certification or the ability to obtain Manufacturer Certification. The job also requires a genuine desire to service the customer. A positive attitude and willingness to be a team member are essential to this position. The Service Department is open Monday – Friday 7:30am to 7pm and Saturday 8am-5pm. Techs can expect to be scheduled for 40 hours a week and could be scheduled any time during those hours of operation. Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills:
• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and read and understand computers.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Valid Driver's License, acceptable driving record and at least 18 years of age required to drive company or customer vehicles.
• ASE Certification or willing to work toward obtaining in one or more of the following:
o Automatic Transmission/Transaxle Certification for Auto/Light Truck
o Brakes Certification for Auto/Light Truck
o Electrical/Electronic Systems Certification for Auto/Light Truck
o Engine Performance Certification for Auto/Light Truck
o Engine Repair Certification for Auto/Light Truck
o Heating and Air Conditioning Certification for Auto/Light Truck
o Manual Drive Train and Axle Certification for Auto/Light Truck
o Suspension and Steering Certification for Auto/Light Truck
