2nd Shift Machinist Apprentice



Job Description
Specific/Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards.
• Safe operation of all machinery, tools, equipment
• Assist senior machinists in running production on CNC machining and/or turning centers and completing inspection reports to verify dimensional conformance on all jobs
• Assist senior machinists in setting up and CNC machining and/or turning centers, and learning set up processes to complete set-ups independently
• Actively identify opportunities for job process improvements, fixtures, and tool selection or path
• Review job folder to verify requirements, procedure, run time
• Monitor machine operations for malfunctions, production quality, safety issues
• Maintain clean, neat work area and perform machine clean up and maintenance as necessary before and after production processes
• Count finished parts to verify order and assist in packing parts for next process/shipping
• Create/fill out routing tags as required
• Perform general shop duties as assigned, and assist in other departments as work load requires
• Consistently apply in-class and on the job education/principles to daily work
• Actively participate in personal development & working hours to meet apprenticeship contract terms
