Delivery & Shipping Associate



Job Description
General Responsibilities

• General area shipping assistance for Shipping Clerk
• Assist daily safe packaging and preparation of metal parts for delivery
• Assist in locating jobs from the floor, & in determining appropriate packaging procedures to ensure safe delivery of all metal parts
• Assist in the loading, packing, & securing of loads on tractor trailers or on other delivery vehicles as necessary for deliveries/pick-ups
• Safe operation of forklift in confined spaces
• Making courteous & prompt delivery to local customers
• Strictly obeying all traffic laws & transportation procedures to ensure deliveries/pick-ups are not damaged
• Verify contents of assigned loads/pick-ups
• Collect bills of lading & signatures on packing lists to turn into shipping/receiving clerk
• Inspect vehicle prior to use, notify shipping/receiving clerk of repairs/mechanical issues as necessary
• Communication of potential delivery issues to management
• Other general tasks as assigned

Position Requirements:
• Must have a valid driver’s license & 3 or fewer traffic violations in the past 3 years
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in driving/shipping related position preferred
