Route Technician



Job Description
STARTING PAY: $10.00 PER HOUR, FULLTIME

GENERAL FUNCTION:
The ARCO Shred Document Destruction Route Technician has the primary function of the professional loading, unloading, stacking and retrieving documents that may be in boxes, pallets or paper containers from an assigned area or business to prepare for destruction. The technician provides customer service to all businesses and locations with the highest level of security and discretion and is carried out according to the contract. The technician trains the men and women with developmental disabilities to provide customer service and the service process; follows specific routes determined by the Operation Manager and completes Service Tickets while providing a positive customer experience. Maintains the confidentiality of all documents received and insures that all required paperwork is completed as specified. The technician continuously prescreens the retrieved documents for unrecyclable material to meet bale specifications as defined by the processing mill. Support and instruct men and women with developmental disabilities at businesses throughout the community.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Excellent reading, writing and verbal skills
• Valid Louisiana chauffeur’s license
• Dependable transportation available on the job
• Ability to lift 60 pounds or more
• Ability to stand for 8 or more hours daily
• Ability to safely drive a large passenger van or box truck
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, etc.
