Horizontal Machinist - COPY



Job Description
Precision machine shop is looking for CNC machinist to oversee a CNC milling production cell. This production cell produces a family of parts that require a consistently high level of quality. The processes of this production cell begin with raw material and include all of the necessary steps to achieve a precision machined part, free of burrs, masked, grained and packaged for delivery to an anodize vendor. The machinist must be capable of setting up and operating horizontal and vertical machining centers, and running multiple machines simultaneously. The programs and fixturing are designed for long cycle times. While machines are running, the machinist will be required to complete secondary processes such as deburring, inspection, washing, masking, graining, and packaging. Daily machine maintenance is also required. We will provide the CNC machinist with training specifically for this production cell and the family of parts being produced. The CNC machinist will be expected to master all of the tasks associated with this production cell. This is a long-term position.

• Blue print reading (including Geometric Tolerances)
• G-code programming
• Machine set-up and operation
o Vertical CNC machining experience (required)
o Horizontal CNC machining experience (desirable)
• Machining practices (milling, drilling, tapping, reaming, boring, etc…)
• Deburring and graining
• Inspection practices
o Surface plate, height gauge, and indicator
o Micrometers
o Thread gauges
o Square
o Calipers

Pay based on experience
