The Assistant Manager’s (AM’s) primary duty is managing all aspects of the restaurant & bar operations to ensure quality standards of food and service are met consistently, assist in management of approximately 60 staff including hiring, firing and development, along with optimizing profits and increasing sales.
In addition, the AM is also responsible for :
Directing the work of employees to achieve our goals of : Great Food & Drinks Great Service Friendly Staff (to customers and each other) Clean & Well Maintained Buildings Scheduling and managing scheduled shifts using shift goals Interviewing, hiring, training, developing, and disciplining of employees Setting and directing work schedules for employees Handling employee and customer complaints professionally and with care Motivating employees to execute the overall direction and goals Apportioning work and responsibilities among employees Ordering food, bar, and necessary supplies Facilitating portions of new hire orientation Controlling food and supply inventory Contributing to inventory and cost of goods management Managing staff within assigned department Showing up prepared to report on assigned responsibilities at management and staff meetings College degree is preferred. A combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an alternative.
Working knowledge of business software (Word, Excel, Social Media) Working knowledge of POS and inventory systems 2+ years experience managing a team of 30+ employees 1+ years in an AM role of a restaurant or bar 1+ years experience managing a high volume liquor / beer / wine bar in excess of $5 million in revenue Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions : food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management, record-keeping
