Business Development-Research and Planning Analyst
Job Description This position takes a leadership role in the corporate strategic planning by performing research, analysis and evaluating existing and potential product and market needs vital to the development and implementation of new strategies for the corporation.
Essential Duties: (include but are not limited to)
• Plan, organize, develop and analyze research studies that support strategic decision making. Participates in corporate scenario planning initiatives. • Track industry and competitive trends, including potential disruptive innovation opportunities inside and outside the dental insurance industry. Identify emerging market opportunities and research strategic solutions to develop strategies that focus on growth opportunities. • Develop analyses and business models to guide decision making, applying relevant methodologies including financial forecasting, market analysis, competitive intelligence analysis and feasibility analysis. • Collect data and analytics needed to identify potential acquisitions and new market opportunities. • Perform in-depth valuations and conduct financial and commercial due diligence. • Prepare and present executive reports summarizing the strategic elements of the strategic opportunity. • Take leadership role in the research into possible entrepreneurial initiatives for the company to partner with or invest in. • Foster relationships with local / regional early-stage companies with novel technologies and attractive business prospects that participate with Angel groups, accelerators, VCs and start up community. • Researches and advises on strategies regarding innovative technologies. • Collaborates with other company staff to design the dental products and services of the future. • Performs special projects as requested.
• Bachelor’s degree required • MBA a plus • Demonstrated leadership skills • Strong organizational, planning and management skills • Demonstrated ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial models • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook • Experience in research, planning, analysis and valuation • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) • Proven ability to conduct and/or analyze research related to consumers, industries and competitors • Proven ability to work and lead a team in a fast paced environment
