Job Description Collect money and be responsible for cash drawer. Must count drawer at opening. Process customer payments. Make change for servers. End of day requirements.
Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol. Enforce Indiana’s rules and regulations. Valid Identification must NOT be expired. Must have Indiana Liquor License, or may work while obtaining a license.
Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons. Communicate with customers to resolve complaints or ensure satisfaction. Understand the importance of not over-serving alcohol.
Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene standards and policies.
Prepare bar for service. Stock bar with related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins, or straws. Record needed supplies. Check the features for the day, both food and beer. Attend pre-shift meeting.
Serve beer and non-alcoholic beverages. Prepare server drinks. Fill growlers and cans for takeout.
Take beverage and food orders from serving staff or directly from patrons. Educated and enthusiastic about our beer and food. Answer menu and beer questions. Provide suggestions and pairings. Interact with guests to build a relationship to ensure a repeat visit. Remember their name, drink, last visit, etc. Be alert to guest signals. Anticipate their needs before they ask. Have a warm, welcoming personality.
Gain knowledge of our brewery and kitchen processes by shadowing our Brewer and Chef. Participate in beer quality tasting panels.
Must be able to perform in a high volume brewpub.
Must be someone who is honest, reliable, and has high energy.
