Job Description
Job Description This position is responsible for receiving, reviewing, coordinating and transmitting radio, telecommunications and computer messages for emergency and non-emergency calls for public safety services received. Job Requirements and Qualifications: 1.) Working knowledge of the operations methods, practices and techniques of computers and radio communications systems 2.) 40-50 WPM typing. 3.) Ability to correctly interpret messages (radio, telephone and computer) under both routine and emergency conditions, while maintaining control of all communications, to insure dispatching of information requested in the least amount of time. 4.) Good oral communication skills and ability to follow instructions. 5.) Ability to pass a controlled substances test and security background checks. 6.) High school diploma or equivalent required. 7.) 1 - 2 years experience in a dispatching role in a public safety environment required.
