Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for electrical diagnostic tasks, repair, and reading blueprints. This position must be able to operate various tools and equipment. In addition, this position may also conduct routine maintenance, repair, and service. This position is subject to working various shifts with the possibility of rest days being scheduled on non-weekend days. This position may be subject to working overtime which would be paid at the overtime rate. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Install, service and repair lighting fixtures, electrical panels, outlets and wiring. Operate power hand tools and other specialized electrical equipment. Install, repair and service specialized electrical equipment and machinery. Construct and maintain service equipment. Read electrical circuit diagrams.Requisition material and supplies from stockroom; call vendors to discuss needs for parts and supplies, and recommend purchases and suppliers. Transfer primary power from one power source to another.Install conductors, splices cable, build terminations and do necessary hookup for primary power lines.Set poles, strings overhead lines and do overhead line maintenance. Lay underground conduit for electrical lines and install low voltage electric lines and conduits for telephone systems. May do other trades work incidental to electrical work. QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent teamwork ability. Excellent Customer Service skills. Knowledge of electrical theory and methods, materials, tools, equipment and systems used in the electrical trade; thorough knowledge of NEC 2008 and regulations pertaining to the electrical trade; inspection of, identification, and knowledge of all electrical distribution systems (24-12K volts); methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment; safety precautions to be observed in the maintenance and installation of electronic and mechanical equipment. Perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lobs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades. Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical and other environmental hazards. Organizational skills - ability to multi-task. Strong written and oral communication skills. High standards of quality and integrity.1- 3 years relevant experience. Pre Employment Skills testing as well as background and drug testing required. Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills. HOURS: Full-time
