Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: This position will review plans and prepare bid information for various projects. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: This position is responsible for: Gathering, calculating and compiling take off data for use in bid proposal estimates. Preparing routine estimates under the supervision of the Project Estimator, Senior Estimator, Chief Estimator or Pre-Construction Manager. Maintaining current and accurate information on prices from suppliers and subcontractors. Utilizing standard estimate computer software to present information to management. Demonstrating role model behaviors on ethics and integrity. Analyze general condition costs to determine company overhead. Visualize, analyze, and communicate project scope of work, Prepare preliminary cost estimates/budgets/schedules, Manage value engineering process, Maintain/create subcontractor/vendor bid list, Prepare quantity surveys/take-offs, Solicit bid invitations, Distribute and manage bid plans and documents, Communicate with subs - prepare RFP/RFI, Qualify and analyze bids, Analyze general conditions, Prepare project estimate/bid/schedule, Manage WBE, DBE, SBE, and/or MBE participation and recordkeeping. Review and coordinate project-specific insurance requirements, Manage subcontractor/vendor insurance requirements. Develop and maintain vendor list, Develop final scope of work for bidders/vendors, Sign subcontracts and vendor contracts/POs. Prepare project budget and schedule of values, Evaluate and manage project budget during construction, Obtain and distribute construction drawings and specifications, Develop contract change orders, Review and approve subcontract change orders QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 1 year of construction industry estimating experience. Proficient with computer software programs including MS Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook). Strong work ethic. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Customer service experience. Excellent teamwork ability. Excellent Customer Service skills. High standards of quality and integrity.1- 3 years relevant experience. Pre Employment Skills testing as well as background and drug testing required. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Eagerness to contribute in a team-oriented environment. Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment. Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills. HOURS: Full-time
