Applicants must be at least 21 years old with a good driving record. EMT's hired by Metro West Ambulance start their career path in our Wheelchair Transport Department. After a 60-day probationary period EMT's then have the option to become Ambulance Certified and are then eligible to pick up additional shifts in our 911 System, Standy-by Division, and on our non-emergent stretcher transport units.
Our career ladder has several steps to provide individuals diverse experiences and training to prepare them for a career in EMS. Metro West Ambulance encourages and supports individuals who continue their education to the next level. We accommodate school schedules so that EMT’s and EMT- I's or AEMT’s can pursue their education while working and gaining practical experience.
Required -Valid Oregon State EMT License -CPR certification -Valid Driver License -Safe driving record -Ability to communicate effectively with other caregivers
Preferred -General map reading skills or familiarity with the area -Previous customer service experience
