Activity Assistant - Kauai Adult Day Health Center (Lihue)
Job Description Kauai Adult Day Health Center is looking for genuinely caring Activity Assistant who strives to provide meaningful activities, has excellent customer service and works well in a team environment. Under the direction and supervision of the Adult Day Care Activity Coordinator, the Activity Assistant plans, coordinates and implements scheduled activities of clients’ preference, both individualized and group in a warm and caring manner. The Activity Assistant works with the facility staff to coordinate holiday and special events and performs a variety of activity tasks. Stands and walks most of the work day. Must be flexible and willing to perform a variety of tasks as assigned. Performs job duties in accordance with Ohana Pacific Management Company (OPMC) Core Values and Core Behaviors.
About Kauai Adult Day Health Center: Kauai Adult Day Health Center is a Free Standing Adult Day Health Center, located in Lihue, on the island of Kauai. We provide a supervised daytime program for the elderly and disabled adults in the community by offering a well-rounded and stimulating program of recreational, social, creative, educational, and therapeutic activities in a supervised, protective and congregate setting during the day. Our services and program help enrich the community’s culture by preventing premature institutionalization of our elderly and disabled adults and we provide respite for families so that they can continue to work and stay healthy. Our goal is to keep our clients independent and active in the community by allowing them to do as much for themselves as possible, and choose and participate in the activities that appeal to them, under the supervision of well-trained and caring staff.
Successful Activity Assistant Applicants must: • Pass criminal background check and drug screen. • CPR and First Aid Certification. • High school diploma or equivalent. • (Applicants who do not meet ALL of the above requirements will NOT be considered.)
Hours: Casual shifts are available. Program hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 4:30 pm
