Job Description IT Specialist This position assists in the daily administration of PCs, servers, firewalls, network switches and other networking devices. Identification, troubleshooting and correcting PC, LAN, and LAN-to-WAN related problems. Assisting in LAN maintenance activities, and providing PC application help-desk support. The IT Specialist ensures that accounts, access privileges, standards, templates and other user requirements remain consistent with security policies as well as handling day-to-day administration of LAN accounts.
Responsibilities • Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction • Monitor open tickets assigned to the queue and process based on priority • Monitor, maintain, administer, and support servers and other hardware • Train end users on use of computer systems. • Support end users with any computer software or hardware problems. • Maintain email and set up user accounts within Office 365 Exchange • Analyze root cause of IT issues and establish the prevention measures • Install and/or upgrade hardware and software on servers/workstations • Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory • Perform network device configuration, backup, and troubleshooting • Monitor, maintain, and support network infrastructure • Administer antivirus and security systems to protect data and computer equipment. • Administer system backups to ensure that all critical company data is backed up and secured daily.
Requirements • Associate Degree in Computer Science or related technical field (additional years of direct experience and/or certifications may substitute for education) • 3+ years of experience in Systems/Network Administration • Comptia A+ Certification preferred • Hands-on experience with Windows Server 2008 and 2012 o (Active Directory and Group Policy, configuration of permissions) • Knowledge of Windows7, 10 and MS Office 2010, 2016, and Office 365 • Working knowledge with iPhone IOS
