Job Description Full-Time Position Available Peer Leader – Youth Recovery Community Services Program
Primary Responsibilities: • Provide support services to youth program participants between the ages of 13-21 experiencing substance use problems. • Assist the Program Director and Peer Leader Supervisor in recruiting and retaining program participants and developing collaborative relations in the community among key stakeholders.
Qualifications: • The preferred candidate will be between 18-24 years of age. • Must be in recovery from using alcohol and/or other drugs for at least six (6) consecutive months. (Note: In the job application, you must explain your personal recovery experience with alcohol and/or other drugs and the number of months that you have been in recovery.) • A high school diploma or GED is required. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred. • The ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish is preferred. • A valid TX driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation are required.
Work Schedule and Compensation: The regular work schedule is from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. Some weekend work is also required. A salary of $8 to $10 per hour (plus benefits) is provided depending on qualifications and experience.
