YOUTH CARE WORKER

(1) Part-Time Position (28 hours per week) with the availability to work Friday to Sunday.

SCAN RGV Youth Recovery Home is a residential substance treatment facility for adolescent males ages 13 to 17.This position include, but is not limited to the following duties:
• Provide direct supervision of 8 youth in care (16 during graveyard) and maintain line-of-sight at all times
• Provide oversight during recreation, meal time, relaxing time, and play
• Assist during transition and movement of youth from one activity to the next and one physical location to another
• Interact with youth in an appropriate manner, including when playing games or during recreational time
• Communicate in a positive and respectful manner with youth, families and all agency staff including supervisors, co-workers, counselors, student interns, and volunteers.
• Effectively communicate behavioral expectations and program regulations to youth and enforce compliance with regulations and expectations by all youth assigned to the worker.
• Complete all required documentation prior to completion of shift.

Requirements:
_ High School Diploma or an Associate’s Degree.
_Valid Texas Driver’s License with good driving record.
_Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish.
-All applicants must be 21 years or older.
