Well-known supplement manufacturer located in the Tri-Valley region is seeking a Capsule Machine Operator. This is a temp-to-hire, full-time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The ideal candidate will have previous experience operating and maintaining capsule production equipment in a manufacturing environment. Capsule Machine Operator

Position Summary:
The Capsule Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining capsule production equipment in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This role ensures consistent product quality, compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and adherence to all safety protocols.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, sanitize, and perform routine maintenance on capsule machines and related equipment.
  • Ensure work areas and equipment remain clean and sanitary at all times; complete all cleaning logs accurately.
  • Follow production specifications as outlined in work orders and Master Manufacturing Records (MMRs).
  • Load materials and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed, pressure, temperature, capsule size) to meet production requirements.
  • Conduct test runs and ongoing quality checks to verify product conformity to specifications.
  • Monitor machine operations, identify and resolve issues, and report malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Inspect and remove defective capsules; document production data, including output quantities and rejects.
  • Handle and transfer finished capsules safely to drying or storage areas, ensuring all containers are properly covered.
  • Meet or exceed established production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all company policies, including the Employee Handbook and Safety Manual.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and applicable state and federal health regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors to ensure production goals and quality expectations are met.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control principles.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English; bilingual skills a plus.
  • Forklift certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use hands for operating and adjusting machinery.
  • May be required to operate a hand truck, pallet jack, or forklift.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and moderate to high noise levels.
  • Exposure to small particles, odors, and allergens.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, face mask, hairnet, and uniform.
