A Shipping and Receiving Lead is a supervisor role responsible for the
efficient and accurate movement of goods in and out of a facility.

expectations of a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor may include but not
limited to:
Job
Description:
Leads by
example, training all team members in every facet of the shop and
directing daily team efforts to meet production requirements and
customer needs.
Enforces
safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Reviews
daily production loading requirements to include haul capacity and
limitations due to weight, length, trailer type, etc.
Reviews
daily production requirements for pallet shipments (hardware, building
supplies, etc.)
Inspects
and ensures accurate packaging, loading, and documentation of jobs.
Ensures
materials are received accurately and works with carriers and purchasing
to resolve issues such as damaged or missing materials.
Communicates
with engineering and other departments to resolve discrepancies with
work orders or material requirements.
Manages
inventory storage and accuracy and meets FIFO requirements.
Performs
cycle counts and inventory checks as required.
Uses our
ERP system and other production software to complete work orders and
receive, issue, and manage inventory as needed.
Maintains
equipment and requests maintenance support as required.
