Dishwasher / prep cook

Hunters & Gatherers is looking for a fast, dependable, and hardworking Dishwasher / Prep Cook to join our evening kitchen team.

This is a physically demanding, fast-paced position that requires speed, stamina, organization, and a strong sense of urgency. We're looking for someone who can keep up with a busy dinner service, take initiative, and contribute to a clean, efficient kitchen.

The right candidate is someone who works hard, moves quickly, stays productive, and takes pride in being a reliable part of the team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume dish station efficiently throughout dinner service

• Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment

• Assist chefs with food preparation, portioning, and ingredient prep

• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked workstations

• Handle trash removal, cleaning, and end-of-night kitchen breakdown

• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures

• Keep pace during busy service without sacrificing cleanliness or quality

• Recognize what needs to be done and take initiative without constant supervision

• Support the kitchen team with additional tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Speed & Efficiency: Must be able to work quickly, multitask, and maintain a strong sense of urgency

• Physical Stamina: Comfortable standing for extended periods, lifting, bending, and performing repetitive physical tasks

• Strong Work Ethic: Willing to work hard and stay productive throughout the entire shift

• Reliability: Consistent attendance, punctuality, and dependable work habits

• Initiative: Ability to recognize priorities and work independently

• Teamwork: Positive attitude and ability to communicate effectively in a busy kitchen

• Previous restaurant or high-volume kitchen experience strongly preferred

• Evening and weekend availability required
