BBA Afterschool Inc. is looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and dependable After-School Cheer Instructor to teach elementary-aged students the basic fundamentals of cheerleading through fun, age-appropriate activities.

Position Details

• Activity: Dance/Cheer

• Location: Hillcrest Heights, MD

• Schedule: After-school afternoon hours, to be confirmed

• Session Length: 1.5 hours

• Pay: $45 per session ($30 per hour)

• Position: Part-time, in-person

• Monday through Friday, depending on program scheduling

• No lesson planning required

• Curriculum and activity guidance provided

Program Focus

Instructors will teach the basic fundamentals of cheerleading, including:

• Basic cheer motions and movements

• Beginner cheers and chants

• Rhythm, timing, and coordination

• Introductory jumps and footwork appropriate to students' abilities

• Simple group routines

• Teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship

All activities must be age-appropriate and conducted safely. Stunts and lifts should not be included unless specifically authorized and properly supervised.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging cheer sessions for elementary-aged students

• Demonstrate basic cheer movements and beginner routines

• Encourage confidence, participation, and teamwork

• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment

• Follow BBA's curriculum and program guidelines

• Communicate professionally with school staff and BBA leadership

• Cheerleaders and cheer instructors

• Dance or gymnastics instructors

• Coaches and youth activity instructors

• Teachers, substitute teachers, and camp counselors

• College students and recent graduates with relevant experience

• Anyone who enjoys teaching children and encouraging teamwork

Qualifications

• Cheer, dance, gymnastics, or related experience preferred

• Experience working with children is a plus

• Patient, energetic, and dependable

• Reliable transportation to the program location

• Must successfully complete required background checks
