Job Description
The Job:
The Lifeguard Supervisor is responsible for seasonal
staffing needs including recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, ongoing
in-service training, and continuous staff and facility supervision. They will lead and participate in ongoing training for all lifeguarding staff, and ensure that all policies are enforced by both lifeguard and front desk staff. This position reports directly to the Program Coordinator
and Aquatics Director.
Duties:
-Championing the culture of Safety, Accountability, and Excellence at all times
-Planning and running bi-weekly in-services
-Teaching Lifeguard Certification Classes
-Supervising Headguards and Lifeguards on shift, including writing performance evaluations and addressing performance-related concerns
-Reaching out to new Lifeguard applicants and arranging interviews and skill assessments
-Owning complex lifeguard scheduling
-Tracking inservice hours and ensuring all schedules are compliant with State laws
-Inventorying first aid, training, and uniform equipment and coordinating with management for re-orders
-Contributing to the overall safety and success of the Aquatics Department
Requirements:
LGI Certification (Required)
2 year of Lifeguarding experience (Required)
3 years of Lifeguarding experience (Preferred)
Must be 18 years or older to apply.
Reliable transportation to and from work is necessary.
Shifts vary and can include weekends, mornings and/or afternoons.
Must respond promptly to work-related email/communication.
Must be able to react quickly to emergencies and follow instruction.
Must be able to work outdoors and perform physical requirements of the position.
