Job Description

Job Summary:

Precision contract machining business is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to work in the Milling Department. Preferably experienced with DMG Mori Machines. The CNC Machinist sets up and operates CNC machinery to produce precision components while maintaining quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Operate equipment to standard work practices within all quality and performance standards
  • Use gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Follow production work orders and documents
  • Neatly and accurately complete all required paperwork
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area
  • Perform complex setups on new and repeat parts per work instructions
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Regularly use hands to handle or feel
  • Regularly reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Required close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-7 years related experience – preferably in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
  • Must be detail-oriented, dependable and trustworthy.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills and works well with all members of the organization.
  • DMG Mori and HAAS experience a plus
  • Experience Troubleshooting dimensional and tooling issues.
  • Experience with tooling, feeds/speeds, tool life and optimizing
  • Part process and fixture design experience a plus
  • Optimize process to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Mechanical inspection knowledge and GD&T
  • Able to read and edit G-Code/M-Code to optimize parameters
