Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a
strong background in machining and CNC operations to join our dynamic
team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of manufacturing
processes, particularly in machining CNC operations, outside post machining
processes such as plating, heat treat, passivation, and a proven track record
of supporting production while maintaining the highest quality standards.
This role will play a critical part in enhancing our manufacturing processes,
driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the successful production of
high-precision components.
Process Optimization:
Work with production team to analyze existing machining and
CNC processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, productivity,
and quality.
Develop and implement innovative strategies to streamline
manufacturing operations, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
Quality Control
Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish and
maintain rigorous quality standards for machined components.
Develop and implement inspection plans, techniques, and
tools to ensure the consistent production of high-quality parts.
Continuous Improvement
Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to identify
opportunities for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
Technical Expertise
Serve as the go-to technical resource for machining and
CNC-related matters, providing guidance to production teams and troubleshooting
issues as they arise.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in machining
technologies and manufacturing methods.
Collaboration
Work closely with operators, managers, and other engineers
to ensure smooth production flow and effective knowledge transfer. Offer
product development assistance to customers.
Training and Development
Foster a culture of learning and continuous skill
development within the manufacturing team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, or related
field is preferred, at least 7 years of proven experience in a Manufacturing Engineering
type roll with a focus on machining and CNC operations will be considered. Candidates
with the following experience but have never held a Manufacturing Engineer
title are encouraged to apply.
Proficiency in CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code),
CAD/CAM software, and machining simulation tools. Feature Cam experience
is a plus.
Solidworks experience a MUST.
Strong understanding of machining processes, tool
selection, cutting parameters, surface finishing requirements, and strong
knowledge of a variety of different material characteristics.
Experience in creating manufacturing drawings for
production, along with sub-contracted process specific drawings.
Strong knowledge of gaging and fixture design.
Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and process
improvement techniques.
GD&T, ISO9001
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to
troubleshoot technical issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Effective communication and collaborations skills to work
cross-functionally and convey technical information to various stakeholders.
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering
high-quality results.
