Qualifications
Required
- Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- Current and valid nursing licensure through one of the following:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas (KS)
- Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) multistate license
- Current and valid Basic or Advanced Life Support certification through one of the following:
- American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
- American Red Cross Advanced Life Support (ARC ALS)
Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (Pre-Op) provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in ambulatory and surgical pre-operative settings. This role is responsible for assessing patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, and evaluating patient outcomes while maintaining compliance with professional nursing standards and applicable state regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to assigned patients using the nursing process.
- Assess patient needs and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
- Prepare patients for surgical and procedural care in pre-operative and ambulatory settings.
- Maintain compliance with professional nursing standards, organizational policies, and state regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to promote safe, high-quality patient care.
- Participate in scheduled surgery, PACU, and ambulatory call shifts.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
Schedule & Call Requirements
The position includes a structured call rotation across surgery, PACU, and ambulatory services:
- Surgery Call: Two weeknights, one Friday, and two 24-hour weekend shifts every four weeks.
- PACU Call: One weeknight, one Friday night, and two weekend shifts per month.
- Ambulatory Call: One Friday night and two weekend shifts per month.
