Position Overview

The Sr. Project Manager – Finance Transformation will lead and support multiple workstreams within a broader Finance Transformation program, ensuring strategic objectives are translated into actionable plans and successfully delivered through execution.

Reporting to the Project Lead, this role will be responsible for managing complex projects and workstreams across people, process, technology, and real estate, supporting the delivery of the future-state Target Operating Model (TOM) for Finance.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex, enterprise-level projects and transformation initiatives. This individual will work closely with senior Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, coordinating resources across geographically dispersed teams and driving initiatives from planning through successful completion.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, self-motivated, and collaborative project leader who can operate effectively with minimal oversight, navigate ambiguity, influence senior stakeholders, and maintain momentum in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project and Workstream Management

  • Lead and support multiple Finance Transformation projects and workstreams across regions and functions.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, deliverables, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate multiple enterprise projects simultaneously, ensuring priorities remain aligned with overall transformation objectives.
  • Communicate project objectives, priorities, milestones, dependencies, and required actions to project teams, management, and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate direct and indirect resources across geographically dispersed locations and functional teams.
  • Utilize project implementation tools, methodologies, and documentation, including project plans, implementation toolkits, migration schedules, action trackers, and status reports.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks, issues, dependencies, and potential impacts to business objectives.
  • Drive projects and workstreams to successful completion while maintaining alignment with the overall Finance Transformation strategy and vision.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ensure effective communication across project teams and stakeholders.

2. Finance Transformation and Strategic Program Support

  • Provide strategic project management support across the Finance Transformation portfolio.
  • Support and lead Finance PMO activities, ensuring effective governance, reporting, prioritization, and execution across the portfolio.
  • Develop strategic project deliverables, including business cases, assessments, communication plans, project plans, executive presentations, and status reports.
  • Prepare and present project updates, key decisions, risks, issues, and recommendations to senior Finance leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Facilitate decision-making and problem-solving on key project and program issues.
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, Technology, HR, Real Estate, and other functional teams to coordinate activities and resolve project dependencies.
  • Support initiatives designed to establish or evolve the Target Operating Model (TOM) for Finance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, project execution, stakeholder engagement, and overall transformation outcomes.

3. Governance, Risk Management, and Project Controls

  • Establish and maintain effective project governance and controls for assigned projects and workstreams.
  • Proactively identify, assess, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Escalate significant risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions to appropriate leadership with clear recommendations and potential solutions.
  • Manage project deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and critical path activities to ensure successful and timely execution.
  • Manage change management and change control processes across assigned projects and programs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely project reporting and provide leadership with clear visibility into project health, progress, risks, and upcoming milestones.
  • Ensure project activities remain aligned with established governance, business requirements, and transformation objectives.

4. Executive and Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with senior Finance leaders, business partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate complex project information to executive audiences in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and facilitate alignment across functions, regions, and competing priorities.
  • Navigate organizational complexity and ambiguity while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Serve as a trusted project management partner to leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment focused on accountability, transparency, and successful delivery.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 5–10+ years of Project Management experience, preferably within complex, enterprise-level organizations.
  • Experience leading Finance Transformation, Finance PMO, or enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working within large-scale enterprise transformation programs.
  • Background or experience in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects, workstreams, and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and resources across multiple locations or business functions.
  • Strong experience with project governance, risk management, issue resolution, change control, and executive reporting.
  • Excellent executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and other productivity and collaboration tools.
  • Experience supporting Target Operating Model (TOM) initiatives is preferred; knowledge can be developed on the job.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within a team-oriented environment.
