Certified Nursing Assistant
We are currently recruiting for CNAs to join our Haven Nursing Center team! The person filling this position must be a certified CNA in the state of Louisiana. Residents at Haven live in units/hallways referred to as "households". CNAs are essential employees of the household team. CNAs provide direct, hands-on care to residents in a long-term care setting, support residents with daily living activities, promote comfort and safety, and assist nursing staff in delivering high-quality, compassionate care. This role is essential to maintaining residents' dignity, well-being, and quality of life. CNAs works 12-hour shifts, providing more time off, including 3-days off, every other weekend.
Primary Duties:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs);
- Help residents with mobility, transfers, positioning, and ambulation;
- Monitor and report changes in residents condition to licensed nursing staff;
- Obtain and record vital signs and other basic health information;
- Respond promptly to call lights and residents needs;
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized resident environment;
- Assist with meal service and hydration needs;
- Provide emotional support and respectful companionship to residents;
- Follow care plans, infection control standards, and safety procedures;
- Document care provided accurately and timely.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Commitment to person-centered care;
- Ability to life, move, and assist residents safely;
- Strong communication and teamwork skills;
- Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications (but not required):
- Knowledge and training about caring for persons living with dementia;
- Experience working with Point Click Care clinical software.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift/push up to 50 pounds;
- Must be able to lift, carry, stand, bend, squat, reach and kneel using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time.
Additional Requirements:
- Active CNA certification in the State of Louisiana;
- CPR Certification (or willing to obtain prior to employment);
- Tuberculosis screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment;
- Employee reference checks will be conducted. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance and contact with the applicant's former employer(s).
