Pay:
Starting at $28.00 per hour depending on experience
Position Summary:
This position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, maximizing equipment performance, and supporting the successful completion of underground utility, grading, and civil construction projects.
- Reports directly to Shop Foreman daily
- Perform pre and post trip inspections on trucks pursuant to DOT regulations
- Travel to each job site daily to lube and fuel heavy machinery / equipment while documenting work performed
- Understand and locate job sites quickly and efficiently
- Safely maneuver truck in often very unstable ground conditions
- Build and maintain working relationships with Foreman and crew members always ensuring safety
- Complete shipping papers at the end of shift each day pursuant to DOT regulations
- Wash truck at main building daily
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must have 1 year of relevant experience driving a Class A commercial motor vehicle
- Mechanic experience is highly desired
- Must have a valid Class A CDL with a Hazmat Endorsement
- Hold a current Medical Card
- Knowledge of diesel mechanics and heavy equipment - including maintenance
- Preferred experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, and John Deere machinery
- Understand hydraulics, cooling, electrical, fuel systems, etc.
