Radiologic Technologist
Reports To
Imaging Manager
Position Summary
The Radiologic Technologist is a skilled, enthusiastic and patient-focused member of our Imaging team. This position performs diagnostic imaging procedures for patients of ages contributing to the efficient operation of the department while ensuring the high quality, compassionate and continuous patient care.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic-quality radiographic examinations in accordance with established protocols.
- Operate digital radiography equipment and associated software accurately and safely.
- Demonstrate proficiency in all routine radiographic procedures, including appropriate exposure selection to ensure optimal image quality.
- Assess patient condition and prioritize safety, comfort, and dignity throughout all imaging procedures.
- Demonstrate compassion and sensitivity when working with infants, children, adolescents, adults and elderly patients; address individual needs and involve parents and family members or interpreters as appropriate.
- Assist with patient scheduling and provide preparation instructions for imaging studies.
- Complete required records and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate image referrals to outside facilities as needed.
- Assist with insurance verification, data entry, and other departmental or office duties to support overall operations.
Education
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program or equivalent prior years of on-the-job experience.
Licenses / Certifications
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification preferred or registry eligibility.
- Current Basic Life Support
Employment Requirements
- Background Check. Employment is contingent on the successful completion of a background investigation conducted by the State of Alaska in accordance with State regulations.
- Drug Screening. All employees must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, which includes testing for marijuana.
- Immunization Compliance. Employees are required to meet all immunization requirements as mandated by the State of Alaska and Federal regulations governing healthcare facilities.
Working Conditions
- The department is part of a small critical access hospital serving both inpatient and outpatient populations.
- Work is performed in a clean, well-lit environment, interacting with patients, residents, family members and colleagues.
- On-call duties are shared among technologists and may include after-hours, weekends, and holiday coverage.
