Job Summary
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving, organizing, storing, picking, packing, and shipping kitchen knives, cutlery sets, and related products. This role helps ensure customer orders are processed accurately, inventory is maintained properly, and shipments are prepared for timely delivery. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, organized, and able to work efficiently in a warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
Receive incoming shipments, inspect products for damage, and verify quantities against purchase orders.
Pick and pack customer orders accurately according to order specifications.
Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and other required shipping documentation.
Organize and store inventory in designated warehouse locations.
Conduct routine inventory counts and report discrepancies to management.
Maintain accurate inventory and order records using warehouse software or computer systems.
Ensure knives and other sharp products are handled, packaged, and stored safely.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse environment.
Assist with loading and unloading deliveries when necessary.
Communicate with customer service and operations teams regarding order status, inventory shortages, and shipping issues.
Follow company policies, workplace safety procedures, and quality-control standards.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous warehouse, inventory, packing, or shipping experience is an advantage.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn inventory management systems.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
Good communication and time-management skills.
Ability to lift and move packages within the physical requirements of the position.
Willingness to follow safety procedures when handling knives and other sharp products.
Working Conditions
This position is primarily based in a warehouse or distribution environment. Duties may involve standing, walking, bending, lifting packages, and repetitive packing tasks throughout the workday. Appropriate safety procedures and protective equipment must be used when handling sharp merchandise.
Performance Expectations
Accurate picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders.
Proper inventory organization and recordkeeping.
Timely completion of assigned warehouse tasks.
