Pediatric Dental Hygienist

We are a new pediatric dental practice in Crofton, MD hiring a part-time Dental Hygienist (RDH) who enjoys working with children and their families.

You will provide preventive care for kids, take radiographs, educate parents, and work alongside the dentist in a modern office that uses Open Dental.

Requirements

• Current Maryland Dental Hygienist license (RDH)
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from a CODA-accredited program
• Current CPR / BLS certification
• Ability to work in person in Crofton, MD 21114
• Comfort working with children and communicating with parents

Preferred

• Prior pediatric or family dental hygiene experience
• Experience with Open Dental
• Strong behavior-guidance skills with young or anxious patients

Responsibilities

• Perform pediatric prophylaxis, scaling, polishing, fluoride treatments, and sealants using age-appropriate techniques
• Take and process dental radiographs
• Review medical and dental history and assess oral health
• Educate children and parents on brushing, flossing, diet, and home care
• Assist the dentist during procedures as needed
• Document findings and treatment in Open Dental
• Follow infection-control, OSHA, and HIPAA protocols
• Collaborate with the clinical team on treatment plans
