As a Veterinary Assistant, you will spend the majority of your work day assisting with the care of patients and our clients. A positive attitude and confidence interacting both with pets and their people are a must!
Essential Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Reliable transportation
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
Minimum of 6 months experience working in a veterinary clinic or similar setting
Flexibility to work rotating weekend shifts
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years or more of veterinary assisting experience
Experience with veterinary practice management software
Knowledge of companion animal behavior and handling, including exotic mammals and reptiles (a plus)
Basic understanding of veterinary terminology, pharmacology, and calculations
Familiarity with canine and feline vaccination protocols, laboratory procedures, venipuncture, and caring for hospitalized or surgical patients
