Department: Service/Operations
Reports to: Marina Manager
The Marina Forklift Operator is responsible for safely launching and retrieving boats from dry stack storage to and from the water, moving boats and trailers throughout the marina using forklifts and tractors, and staging boats for service technicians. This position maintains an organized marina yard and storage areas, performs general maintenance of boat storage slips, and assists with daily marina operations. The position requires weekend availability and strong commitment to safe equipment and boat handling.

Essential duties and responsibilities
Safely launch and retrieve boats to and from the water and dry stack storage
Operate forklifts, tractors, and other equipment to safely move boats and trailers throughout the marina and storage yard
Stage boats for service technicians and coordinate boat movements to support efficient service operations
Perform daily forklift inspections and maintain inspection and maintenance records
Monitor equipment maintenance schedules and ensure required service is completed timely
Maintain accurate records of boat locations, movements, and storage assignments using Speedy Dock
Perform general maintenance and upkeep of boat storage slips and surrounding areas
Assist customers with boat retrievals, launches, and other marina needs while providing professional customer service
Follow all safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines when operating equipment and handling boats
Report equipment issues, damage, safety concerns, or maintenance needs to management promptly
Assist with general marina operations and other duties as assigned
Maintain weekend availability to support marina operations and customer needs
Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
One year or more of related experience/training is preferred
Experience in a marina, boatyard, marine dealership, or similar environment preferred
Ability to safely operate forklifts, tractors, and other equipment used to move and position boats
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety when handling boats, equipment, and customer property
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, technicians, and marina staff
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
Valid driver's and vessel license with an acceptable driving record
