SAFETY COORDINATOR (ENTRY-LEVEL) – Heavy Civil Construction

About the Role
State Utility Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support and strengthen our company-wide safety program across active job sites. This role is ideal for someone early in their safety career who enjoys working directly with field crews, promoting safe work practices, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards.

projects range from $500,000 to $100 million and include treatment facilities,
pump stations, and major pipeline infrastructure.
What You’ll Do
You will be involved in the daily execution of State Utility Contractors
safety program across active projects.
You will:
• Conduct regular and unannounced jobsite inspections to identify unsafe
conditions and behaviors
• Assist in developing, implementing, and enforcing OSHA and company safety
policies and procedures
• Organize and conduct safety training, orientations, and skill assessments
• Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, incident investigations, near
misses, and training records
• Serve as a point of contact between employees and management on safety
matters in both English and Spanish
• Evaluate equipment and work processes to ensure compliance with regulatory
and internal standards
What You Bring
• High school diploma or equivalent
(technical training or associate degree preferred)
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification preferred (First Aid, CPR, and AED
recommended)
• 6+ months of experience in safety, health, or environmental roles
(construction or industrial experience preferred)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic safety record-keeping systems
• Strong observation, communication, and organizational skills
• Clean driving record with 5 years of driving
experience
