About the Role
We’re seeking a driven Senior Natural Gas Pipeline Project
Manager for construction and maintenance projects who wants to advance their
career, gaining hands-on experience across all disciplines of gas construction
and estimating fundamentals. You will join a highly respected pipeline division
that boasts 90+ years of collective expertise, working side-by-side with our
leadership team who will support your development.
This role is designed for a senior level growth-minded
construction professional who thrives in both operational leadership and
business development environments. The selected candidate will have significant
influence over project execution, client relationships, team development,
operational processes, and long-term strategic growth of the business unit.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll be involved in the full project
management lifecycle from bidding/pricing work, preconstruction, project
construction, and final completion/project turn over to owner.
You will:
- Manage the full operations of our current maintenance and repair contract with York County, SC Natural Gas.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships with gas utilities in our region and gas industry partners in NC and SC.
- Support business development efforts, estimating coordination, and strategic growth initiatives for natural gas pipeline construction and maintenance work.
- Develop project strategy, preconstruction planning, and scheduling efforts.
- Build, mentor, and lead project teams, field personnel, and subcontractor relationships.
- Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to develop purchase orders and subcontract agreements for the project.
- Complete all project specific administration and submittal requirements from receipt from suppliers/subcontractors to final owner approval.
- Coordinate and communicate with the project Field Supervision to ensure all manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, are ready and available when needed to meet project schedule.
- Continuously monitor project cost (labor, material, subcontracts, equipment) and track production, provide feedback to the management team, and update schedules.
- Communicate with other team members to remove any obstacles that arise during construction.
- Ability to conduct meetings with owners and engineers and discuss project specifics.
- Grow into leading complete projects in new markets, ultimately taking ownership of full project from preconstruction to project completion.
- Participate in long-term planning and organizational development of the Gas business unit of the company.
What You Bring
- 10+ years of experience in natural gas pipeline construction, utility infrastructure, or related heavy civil construction.
- Proven experience managing large-scale gas distribution, transmission, or maintenance projects.
- Strong knowledge of pipeline construction methods, utility coordination, and industry safety standards.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing multiple projects and teams.
- Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
- Estimating experience in gas pipeline construction or heavy civil construction preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project and Outlook).
- Some travel across NC and SC is required as needed.
