Job Description
Set up and operates power saw to cut, slot, groove, miter, and trim parts according to specifications
2. Selects and installs blade on machine, using hand tools
3. Sets controls to adjust speed, feed rate, and blade tensions
4. Positions guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct workpiece, using hand tools
and measuring devices
5. Scribes reference lines on material as guide for sawing operations according to part drawings, templates,
sample parts, or specifications.
6. Mounts workpiece in holding device, manually or using hoist
7. Operates saw to cut along scribed lines
8. Verifies dimensions of finished workpiece, using measuring devices
9. Read, analyze, and understand shop drawings, blueprints, and/or sketches Ability to stand, lift, climb and
perform various other physical functions
