Position Hours: 2nd Shift 12 Hour Shifts Sunday - Wednesday: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM and then Wednesday 6:00 PM - 12:00 AM
Position Wage: $25.74 - $32.76 per hour (includes 17% shift differential)
Salaries are based on a number of factors, including the skills and experience of the candidates. It is common to be hired at the lower to middle end of a salary range and while it is possible to be hired at the higher end, it often requires unique circumstances, such as proven expertise.

Job Description:
The Shift Lead is a developmental leadership role designed to prepare high-potential employees for promotion into the Shift Foreman position. This individual supports the Shift Foreman in executing daily operations, ensuring safety, quality, and production goals are met while building leadership, technical, and team development skills. The Shift Lead is expected to lead by example, assist in coordinating plant activities, and take on increasing responsibility in supervision, training, and decision making.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Production- Work closely with employees on shift to accomplish set schedules & commitments
- Assist in coordinating workflow and communicating priorities to the team
- Support oversight of operations and perform production activities on the production floor
- Develop working knowledge of all processing and equipment within assigned areas
- Help maintain plant organization and cleanliness
- Assist in identifying and documenting maintenance concerns
- Support training and onboarding of new employees
- Provide peer-to-peer coaching and guidance on daily tasks
- Assist Shift Foreman in tracking employee progress and training records
- Model expected behaviors, performance standards, and work ethic
- Follow & reinforce company procedures, policies, and safety standards
- Act as a point of contact in the absence of the Shift Foreman when needed
- Assist with shift communication and coordination between departments
- Participate in shift meetings, audits, and plant walk-throughts
- Promote a positive team environment aligned with servant-leadership principles
- Escalate issues related to safety, quality, or production as needed
Minimum Requirements:
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, a non-resident, authorized to work in the U.S. without ThermTech sponsorship). ThermTech does not sponsor visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.
- This position must satisfy ITAR (DSP-5) compliance requirements; therefore, candidates must be a lawful permanent resident [8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20)] or a protected individual [8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)]. Employment of Foreign Persons(s) [22 CFR 120.63] will be contingent on receiving the DSP-5 license from the US State Department.
- All hires are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test & background check.
- May be required to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of but are not limited to the following:
- Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods in a non-climate controlled industrial environment
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
- Capable of lifting and carrying at least 25-pound objects throughout shift
- Must be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, humidity, etc.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
- Must demonstrate the ability to perform fundamental mathematical skills and concepts (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, and the basics of algebra and geometry).
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Acquire/maintain forklift certification
Experience: 1-3 years in heat treating or production environment with demonstrated leadership potential
Hard Skills:
- Basic understanding of plant operations and equipment
- Working knowledge of Bluestreak and Microsoft Office preferred
- Understanding of company quality policies and procedures
- Ability to perform physical work (lifting up to 65 lbs.)
