Construction Project Manager

Valdez Construction, Inc. is a 100% employee-owned general contractor based in Oak Harbor, WA. Ideal candidates will have a broad understanding of commercial construction trades, with public works or government contracting experience preferred.

Project Manager Responsibilities

• Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring successful completion within budget, schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate project budgets, cost-to-complete forecasts, schedules, and monthly progress billings.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel to maintain project progress and resolve issues.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, scope development, subcontract agreements, submittals, and material purchasing.
• Identify, price, negotiate, and process change orders in a timely manner.
• Anticipate project challenges, develop solutions, and make timely decisions to protect project performance and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, and applicable regulations.
• Manage project closeout, including punch lists, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and final cost reconciliation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial construction management experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, estimating, scheduling, and project cost management.
• Experience with public works or government construction projects preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel, Bluebeam, scheduling software, and construction management applications.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple projects, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $100,000–$130,000 annually, depending on experience.
