Manufacturing Manager



Job Description

The Manufacturing Manager will provide leadership and supervision to the entire manufacturing team including department managers, supervisors, and associates. The Manufacturing Manager provides expertise and support in all areas of responsibility to ensure the operation meets customer expectations as well as other key performance metrics. He/she will support the development and implementation of initiatives to improve safety, quality, on-time delivery, and productivity while driving down cost within the operation.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership to manufacturing team to achieve all goals in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
• Plan, direct and coordinate the activities of the production departments
• Develop methods and procedures to ensure manufacturing satisfies customer demand
• Ensure workforce resources are adequate to meet the organization’s production schedule
• Evaluate production and determine ways to improve efficiency while ensuring the achievement of quality standards
• Define and drive standardized work throughout manufacturing
• Assist in implementing and managing continuous improvement initiatives
• Develop, lead, mentor and motivate subordinates to develop a high performing managerial team and an engaged hourly workforce
• Drive a total quality culture. Assist with the implementation and management of a total quality program.
• Partner with the Product Development group in the coordination and success of any new product launches
• Ensure that issues regarding new/existing products are resolved in a timely and cost-efficient manner

Qualification Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management or related field
• Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of manufacturing experience.
• Five (5) years of supervisory experience.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing and productivity projects
• Ability to articulate a vision and manufacturing strategy
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people
• Ability to manage multiple complex priorities within short timeframes

Preferred Qualifications:
• BS In Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
• Experience in the Textile industry
• Experience manufacturing custom products
• Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certified
• Bilingual (English/Portuguese)
