Swatch Associate - temporary assignment (2 - 3 weeks)

Job Description

Schedule Full-Time 40 hours (Monday - Friday - 8:00am - 4:30pm).


Summary:

The Swatch Associate is responsible to assemble all swatch fabric sample squares by trimming excess material from a variety of luxury linen styles by hand and punching holes to create the swatch books, including but not limited to a variety of fabrics for bedding, curtains, sheets, and miscellaneous linen items. First, they will receive swatch squares from Sewing and then they will begin the cleaning and assembly process for each swatch book. Different linens may require different methods of manipulation or attachment, utilizing small manual cutting tools such as scissors and trimmers to ensure uniformity and quality. After assembling the swatch books and labeling each swatch, they are passed to Finishing for packaging and final order fulfillment. This role is expected to be flexible, based on evolving business needs.


Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Generally low physical activity

  • Read and interpret work orders

  • Consistently assess self performance for consistency

  • Maintain awareness of production goals and any obstacles that could cause a delay

  • Pay meticulous attention to work detail

  • Support continuous improvement activities and projects

  • If there is an imperfection on a product, pause to repair or send back for repair

  • Maintain daily housekeeping/cleaning of materials from the floor to ensure safety in the area

Qualification Requirements:

  • Flexibility to move from one assignment to another as dictated by business needs.

  • Read and follow production work orders. Document production data where necessary.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform general physical activities.

  • Ability to work both independently and on a team to complete assignments.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to comply with evolving methods of production.
