Remote Speech Language Pathologist

Job Description

SUMMARY: This position includes the implementation of speech and language assessment
and both individual and group intervention (to include pragmatic language and social skills
groups) for participants across children with autism and/or developmental disabilities ages 2-20+ years of age and their families.
Oversight for speech and language direct services will be provided by the SBBC Director of Clinical Services. The SLP
will work collaboratively with the program team to develop new and innovative programs
occurring at our center locations and off site.

PAY: Subcontracted position with an hourly rate of $50-$65 per hour OR $70,000- $80,000 annually

HOURS: Part-time or full-time flexible hours as determined by SBBC clinical director and
agreed upon by occupational therapist.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
❖ Administer speech and language screenings/ assessments/evaluations
❖ Develop & implement speech and language treatment goals and objectives
❖ Determine Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) needs, strategies and
systems for each individual client
❖ Integrate AAC strategies and systems into screenings, assessments and treatment
programs as applicable
❖ Integrate evidence-based practices for autism spectrum disorder into all clinical
practices
❖ Collect data on speech and language goals and objectives
❖ Generate clinical notes and maintain therapeutic records
❖ Create necessary materials to support a variety of communicative needs
❖ Integrate parent training, parent involvement and communication with families across
❖ screenings, assessments and treatment programs
❖ Work collaboratively with professionals from many other disciplines

SLP QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSING
REQUIREMENTS:
❖ Master’s Degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders
❖ Professional speech and language license by the State of Indiana Department of Health
❖ ASHA certificate of clinical competence
❖ Minimum 3 years’ clinical experience in providing speech and language treatment
infusing behavioral principles and techniques with individuals on the autism spectrum
and with related disabilities
❖ Demonstrates proficient knowledge of typical development
❖ Demonstrate proficient knowledge and use of varying AAC strategies and systems
❖ National Provider Identifier (NPI) and Taxonomy code required at time of hire
❖ Experience working with a variety of age groups from birth-adulthood
❖ Experience working collaboratively with related professionals and providers
❖ Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to
communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, community members, and staff
members
❖ Demonstrates excellent time-management skills
❖ Demonstrates excellent rapport with children
❖ Valid CPR certification
❖ Valid Indiana driver’s license
❖ Valid and comprehensive individual liability insurance plan
