Job summary
Established General Contractor is currently searching for an assistant project manager to effectively work with our team as well as owners, architects, and sub-contractors in designing and building custom homes on the island of Kauai. Successful candidate will be a team player who can work well independently. Must have strong computer and communication skills. In addition, candidate must be flexible, motivated and willing to learn new skills. This is an entry level position.

Assistant Project Manager responsibilities and duties
• Assist in providing full Construction Administration services (construction site visits, preparation of field reports and schedules, processing change orders, shop drawing review and project close-out)
• Assist with developing subcontractor agreements
• Provide liaison services between field and office, filling in and helping where needed
• Support and adhere to project schedule
• Maintain records and logs (including, but not limited to phone, drawing, sketch, contact, etc.).
• Prepare and archive meeting agendas
• Participate in subcontractor or owner meetings as needed
• Must be willing to assist in all aspects of construction including manual labor, as needed
• Other duties as assigned.

Assistant Project Manager qualifications and skills
• College or work experience in Construction Management or similar field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the Construction field, residential construction preferred
• Strong computer skills – Word, excel, adobe, dropbox, planswift, chief architect
• Strong communication skills – both written and oral
• Extremely organized with an attention to great detail
• Ability to manage daily project tasks as well as having clarity of foresight
• Team Player willing to assist all other team members when needed
• Task Oriented
• Driven to meet deadlines and challenging schedules
• Capable of managing multiple projects/activities in a dynamic fast paced environment
• Understanding of “customer service” and ability to implement company principles
• Ability to manage and work with diverse groups of individuals
• Must possess valid driver’s license
