Job Description

We are looking to add a supply chain professional who has experience in production planning, purchasing, inventory management & ERP system development - either through experience or Supple Chain/Operations related education to join our team in a key buyer/planner role! This position will lead scheduling/production planning, subcontracting, and purchasing/inventory processes for our growing metal stamping division.

Must be very comfortable with using/learning software or ERP systems, comfortable with the tactical side of the role/system development & be willing to take a proactive, independent, and at times creative role with both problem solving & customer communication.

Prior work experience in manufacturing environment in supply chain, (with experience in production/demand scheduling, inventory management & some purchasing) required.

Strong ERP skills with some experience developing/implementing supply chain process changes within the ERP also required. Supply chain or Operations/Materials Management degree required, APICS certification is a plus.

Customer Communication
a. Providing proactive status updates for late or early shipments
b. Being a main point of contact for customer communication, and ensuring there is timely communication with them related to the production of their CNC Machined parts

a. Daily shipping email (communicating/setting shipping priorities, when, where, & other pertinent details for finished parts)
b. Communicating any drop off or pickups to/from vendors as required (coordinated/executed through shipping team, delegated to material handler, or self as needed for subcontracted parts)
c. Assisting with ensuring parts are packed/labeled correctly as needed, and helping hands on get parts ready for shipment as needed to meet due dates/monthly sales goals

a. Raw coil materials for stamping production work
b. Assist in purchasing perishables/shop Supplies

a. Vendor Set Up (evaluating/selecting subcontractors based on part specs, cost, lead time, & quality, also include managing the quality output from subcontractors)
b. Manage Lead times / costing (staying on top of due dates & costing)

Inventory Management
a. Finished Goods (knowing what is remaining on hand for future shipment, and what is being shipped)
b. Raw Material (knowing what is on hand, what is needed for current production
c. Purchased Components (couple assemblies in department)
d. Scheduling replenishment of inventory (external customer supplied parts/materials, and internal vendor supplying parts)
e. Maintenance of system inventory including physical inventory recs and adjustments

ECN – Engineering
a. Processing ECNs (change of rev level (detailed spec) to a part drawing, ensuring changes to prints, shop floor routers, files is updated/communicated)
b. Engineering Masters – Updates or Changes (changes/notes added to ERP system file to accurately reflect the production processes)

a. Updating production/sales schedule tool, managing pushing sales in or out (knowing what work is shipping, will ship, should/could ship – in relation to top level schedule and sales goals for department)
b. Closing the month (assisting with finished goods being entered into the system, reviewing jobs shipped/open to verify what should remain open or be closed out for future transactions)

Shop Order Maintenance
a. Issuing orders or updates to internal customers or suppliers
b. Verifying shop order details are correct: correct manufacturing processes, correct parts produced/shipped, verifying material has been allocated as needed
