Bay Aging is seeking a part-time, Housing Program Support Specialist. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team. The Housing Program Support Specialist-Outreach works primarily with the Emergency Home Repair Program, the Indoor Plumbing Program, and Weatherization Program. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

40% Emergency Home Repair Program: Performs outreach in order to boost applications for Emergency Home Repair Assistance. Assists applicants with the process of obtaining the proper permits and additional documentation required by DHCD and Bay Aging. Will provide the Assistant Director, Single Family Housing-Weatherization with all signed documents. Works closely with the Department of Social Services, Health Department, and other organizations.

40% Indoor Plumbing Program: Obtains the knowledge to assist with the indoor plumbing program and explains all options to applicants with plumbing needs. Assists applicant(s) with the process of obtaining the proper permits and additional documentation required by Bay Aging and DHCD. Forwards completed housing applications to the Assistant Director, Single Family Housing-Weatherization.

20% Weatherization: Visits the Department of Social Service Offices (12) and Health Department (12) monthly or more often if necessary to supply them with Weatherization Program applications. Provides applications to clients during visits and assists with completion. Assists Weatherization Program in raising the number of applications for our 12-county service area.

KNOWLEDGE

General knowledge of emergency home repair, indoor plumbing and weatherization programs obtained and shared with potential clients. Ability to communicate will variety of clients.

ABILITIES

Work well under the pressure of recurring deadlines. Attention to details and strong organizational skills. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, clients, and outside parties. Ability to communicate in person, by phone and in writing.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Minimal physical requirements (ability to lift 20 lbs, walking and climbing stairs). Independent travel required around the area served by Bay Aging.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Graduate or equivalent. Must possess a valid driver's license.

FLSA status: This is a non-exempt position.
