Job Description

Baywood, a beautiful golf course community located in southern Delaware, has over thirty acres of gardens that are maintained throughout the 500-acre property and include naturalized wetlands and ponds, woodland parks, mixed borders, and extensive seasonal displays.  We are looking for a qualified individual for a full-time position as the Assistant Landscape Supervisor.


Job Responsibilities:

The Assistant Landscape Supervisor works closely with all crew leads and supports the Landscape Supervisor in completing the day-to-day goals and objectives.  In addition, there are specific hands-on job duties/areas assigned to the Assistant Landscape Supervisor to maintain routinely.  Some of these duties include weed control, pruning, trimming, fertilizing, mulching, planting, and plant healthcare diagnosis.  Scheduling/delegating required work to staff in a professional manner as well as communicating with residents, other departments, visitors and vendors.  Other administrative duties may include inventory, time sheets, service schedules, training/support of employees and monitoring/enforcing all safety policies. Seasonal tasks include snow removal, holiday decoration, bedding plant installation/removal, direction and coaching of seasonal crew members.

Job Requirements:

The Assistant Supervisor shall have 3-5 years of experience in landscape maintenance and installation and possess a broad knowledge base of landscape plants suitable for the Mid-Atlantic region. They must also be familiar with common landscape chemicals and their proper application.  Knowledge of safe operation of equipment such as Gators, tractors, blowers, chainsaws, augers, etc.  Some experience in supervising as well as dealing with the general public, an excellent communicator.  Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams and Dropbox.  This position is expected to work in all weather conditions and shall possess the ability to lift in excess of 50lbs.

Hours of Employment:

  • This is a full-time, year-round position with OT hours available during the spring/summer season
  • Operating hours are from 6:30am-3pm M-F

Uniforms: 

  • Company polo (provided) and khaki or tan pants in season (May-Oct.). 
  • Boots or closed toe shoe. 
  • PPE and safety vests provided.

Compensation:

  • $39,500 to $49,500 annually, commensurate with experience
