Lifeguard



Job Description
All positions have been filled, but applications are still being accepted in the event additional positions need to be filled.

Job Requirements:
1. Must have a Lifeguard Certification for pools up to 10 ft
2. Must be CPR- First Aid certified (Part of Lifeguard Cert)
3. Must be able to carry a 50lb weight a distance of 50 ft.
4. Must be able to sit or stand in the sun for up to 10 hours or more a day
5. Must be respectful of others, motivated, attentive, and willing to work
6. Must work weekends (Friday, Saturday,Sunday)
7. Must work holidays; Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor day

Pay Rate: $10.00 per hour

Job Duties
All duties are to be performed on a daily basis unless otherwise noted.
• Arrive on time
• Be kind and courteous to the residents and guests of Pot-Nets and Baywood
• Maintain a professional image (refer to uniform guidelines)
• Be aware of the number of people in the pool and on pool deck
• Know and enforce all pool rules
• Perform rescues when necessary
• Provide safety information to all guests
• Supervise all swimmers
• Be vigilant of any and all dangerous activities, objects, and behaviors in the pool or on the pool deck
• Control and report any unruly behavior from guests and residents (Refer rule enforcement guidelines)
• Preform hourly Chlorine and Ph tests using the provided test kit
• Record hourly Chlorine, Ph, and water temperature
• Maintain a clean pool throughout the day(I.e.- objects in water, debris on pool floor, ladders, skimmers)
• Maintain clean and neat pool deck (Tables, chairs, deck, loungers etc.)
• Maintain accurate records of chemical checks and daily tasks
• Inspect and maintain rescue tubes, back boards, and first aid kits
• Store all pool equipment indoors at closing time
• Work any and all shifts assigned

Uniform guidelines
The following uniform will be provided and must be worn on a daily basis at all times
• 1 “Lifeguard” T-shirt
• 1 “Lifeguard” Long-sleeve shirt
• 1 “Lifeguard” Hat/Visor
• 1 “Lifeguard” Pull-over jacket
• 1 Whistle and Lanyard
• 1 Set of keys

The Following uniform must be provided by the employee
• Females- A 1 or 2 piece “Lifeguard” suit in Red or Blue. And shorts of any color
• Males- Red or Blue “Lifeguard” Swim Trunks
• Sunscreen, Sunglasses
Sweat pants may occasionally be worn on colder days, however they must be pulled up above the waist and not sagging. Shorts and Trunks must not sag below the waist-line and all uniforms should fit appropriately.
At least one piece of your uniform must identify you as a lifeguard at all times.
One of the following sun protective combinations must be worn at all times;
1. Shirt, Hat, Sunglasses
2. Shirt, Pants, Sunglasses
3. Pants, Sunglasses, Hat

Work Scheduling
There will be a mandatory orientation- work place training prior to being scheduled to work
Pre-season- Prior to Memorial day (Monday, May 29th 2017) the pool will be open on Saturday and Sunday 10am-6pm or 12pm-8pm. All lifeguards are required to arrive 2 hours prior to opening to clean the pool and deck areas. These will be 10 hour days from 8am-6pm or 10am-8pm.
