Job Description Bittersweet Farms is a world renowned leader in serving individuals with autism. We are seeking a full time second shift Residential Program Manager located in Whitehouse, OH. Responsibilities for the position include:
POSITION PURPOSE: This position is responsible for ensuring that the services and supports for participants’ residing in the ICF, as prescribed by the ISP’s, are being provided in a consistent and effective manner. The Residential Program Manager is working alongside our participants and staff in each residential ICF home and will provide hands-on training, support, feedback and supervision on the floor in an active teaching and supervisory role. This position is essential in maintaining the stability of each home facilitating ease of service delivery. They will serve as a liaison between the administration, DSP’s and participants.
QUALIFICATIONS: o High School Diploma or equivalent; degree preferred o Two or more years’ experience working with individuals with DD/Autism o Experience as DSP preferred o Planning & coordination/organizational skills o Effective conflict/crisis mediation skills o Excellent written /oral communications skills, knowledge of the use of computers: Word, Excel, Outlook o Active knowledge of BSF philosophy and its application; MAPS and core values o Valid driver’s license along with eligibility to be insured
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION: All of the essential job functions listed below are necessary in order to effectively perform the job, along with respectfully performing all additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
JOB TASKS AND EXPECTATIONS ○ Direct oversight of DSP’s on the floor during second shift and weekend mornings ○ Provide ongoing feedback, correction and formal discipline when required in conjunction with the Staffing Manager ○ Coordinator for participant activities; create and maintain daily schedules and monthly activity calendars for both on-site and off-ground activities ○ Oversight of DSP’s implementation of house activities and schedule follow through, homes’ cleanliness, and participants’ safety (report any medical concerns immediately) ○ Ability to intervene in conflict and effectively communicate with those involved ○ Uphold participants’ rights and immediately report any violations witnessed ○ Follow through on DSP’s implementation of Individual Service Plans, including behavior support prevention and intervention strategies, skill development programs, and/or any other necessary schedules ○ Ensure incident reports are written in a timely and professional manner ○ Assist participants in performing tasks to the best of their abilities, while encouraging partnership ○ Coordinate shopping for clothes and other necessary items, hair appointments, management of participants’ funds ○ Serve as back up for DSP’s and provide breaks to them as needed ○ Participants’ clothing and personal possession inventory coordination and delegation ○ Rotating on-call responsibilities for emergency staff coverage ○ Assist with new hire training to ensure ongoing training requirements are met for DSP’s
ADMINISTRATIVE ○ Represent Bittersweet in a positive and professional manner whether on or off the property ○ Promote communication, choice, independence, socialization, and self-control for the participants in all areas of their residential, vocational, and leisure programs ○ Attend all mandatory meetings, trainings, and in-services as required ○ Adherence to governing rules and regulations ○ Complete regular program service delivery frequency checks as needed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: o Ability to operate a variety of household appliances o Ability to lift objects weighing up to 60-80 pounds o Ability to assist and escort participants as needed o Positions self to bend, crouch, run, and walk extensively (e.g. up to 5 miles at one time) o Perform any household labor needed
WORK ENVIRONMENT o Consists of ICF homes & outdoor activities o Daily exposure to numerous cleaning supplies o Must follow and be aware of Safety regulations o Maintain a positive attitude in a stressful environment
