Tool Maker - 1st Shift Opening

Chapter 2 is a full-service manufacturer that specializes in Production Machining, Assembly and Fabrication services along with Custom Design and Build services in Tooling, Workholding, Automated Machinery and other Engineered Solutions. Chapter 2 is currently opening a toolmaker position on 1st shift.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders. Working knowledge and skills in welding preferred.
  • Build/Repair custom jigs, fixtures, tools, gages, dies and other products/parts as needed.
  • Develop and execute manufacturing plans based on toolmaking best practices.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation. Can also work from conceptual designs and sketches.
  • Perform quality control by testing fit and finish of parts/assemblies were applicable. Identify, troubleshoot and develop/suggest solutions to any issues discovered.
  • Ability to utilize precision measuring equipment and hold tight tolerances of +/- .0003.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance on equipment utilized.

Candidate(s) should be a reliable and responsible individual, able to work independently and well with others. A strong mechanical aptitude is required. Must have an excellent attendance record as well! Previous experience as a Tool & Die Maker required. Heavy lifting and standing are required.

Starting wage between $30-$35 (based on experience)
