Functions as the Environmental Services Team Lead for MQMC, MOPH and OLOL. Assists the Environmental Services Manager in maintaining a high quality of standards in the Environmental Services and Laundry Departments. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures to assure that the facilities, equipment, supplies, etc. are maintained in a clean, sanitary, orderly, safe and attractive manner.
  • Assures that an adequate supply of clean linen is maintained at all times for resident comfort and convenience. Monitors Laundry operations to ensure proper procedures are being followed.
  • Continuously checks areas to be sure work is being completed and personnel are following schedules, policies, and procedures. Completes QC inspections and document same.
  • Handles all requests with a sense of urgency.
  • Arranges for assigned areas to have adequate coverage at all times by using personnel efficiently, including filling in when needed.
  • Provides training to all E.S. Aids to meet standards established. Assists with completing employee performance evaluations.
  • Meets with personnel on a regular basis to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and to find ways to improve services.
  • Makes oral and written recommendations to the Environmental Services Manager concerning the operation of the Environmental Services and Laundry Departments. Assist with annual budget submissions.
  • Responsible for room/event set-ups and changes on a daily basis; as well as, supplies these set-ups with tables, chairs, televisions, VCRs, DVD Players, overhead projectors, etc.
  • Assists in reviewing department policies, procedures, manuals, job descripions, etc. and participates in making recommended changes.
  • Meets with other Team leads to review quality improvement, policy and procedures issues.
  • Instills a positive service-minded attitude and a feeling of pride in a job well done, in the Housekeeping and Laundry Staff by demonstrating a personal enthusiasm and team spirit.
  • When required assumes duties as Environmental Services Manager.

 

Knowledge & Experience Requirements

  • Must have at least two years experience in environmental services and laundry supervision within the Healthcare Industry.
