DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the consumer laws and regulations, which affect the products and services offered by the bank.
  • Monitor and maintain the adequacy of the Compliance Management System to ensure all applicable laws and regulations are accurately incorporated in the bank's operations.
  • Periodically review and update other bank policies and procedures, for adoption by the Board of Directors, to ensure compliance with applicable federal laws and regulations.
  • Monitor the bank's system of internal controls to ascertain bank wide compliance; identify any apparent violations of regulatory requirements and bank policy.
  • Perform Regulatory Controls Evaluations (RCEs), maintaining and reviewing consumer compliance work-papers and reports as necessary.
  • Reviewing and/or preparing detailed reports of audit findings, presenting any irregularities or exceptions to the Chief Compliance Officer and responsible department heads or managers for final review and submission to the Board of Directors as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and maintain a comprehensive training program which addresses the bank's policies/procedures, as well as applicable federal laws and regulations; compile and maintain training materials and assist in or conduct training sessions for new and existing employees.
  • Provide assistance to the CRA Officer for reviewing and assigning Consumer Comments to the appropriate managers.
  • Develop and maintain a library of compliance resources.
  • Furnish examiners and internal auditors with requested information and manage follow-up activities resulting from regulator and auditor communications.
  • Coordinate with the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure that compliance issues are adequately addressed where appropriate.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and disseminate to appropriate department heads.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to employees and management to facilitate resolution of bank compliance issues.
  • Review the bank's forms and disclosures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Serve on committees and participate in new product/service development as an advisor to compliance requirements as required.
  • Commitment to the pursuit of professional development skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
  • Operate a variety of standard office machines, including a personal computer and a variety of computer software, phone, email, calculator, and photocopy machine.
  • Comply with all federal and state regulations to include but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Duty to report suspected or known fraud. Duty to behave in an ethical manner.
  • Perform reviews and support for marketing materials and other collateral.
  • Perform compliance visits and reviews at selected branches each quarter.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Experience / Requirements:

  • 2+ years Regulatory Compliance experience. 4+ years banking industry experience. College degree required/relevant experience may be considered in place of a college degree.
  • Knowledge of general banking operations, policies and procedures.
  • Experience in Compliance, Risk, Operations or Audit.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Demonstrated superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to model the bank's culture of Responsiveness, Assurance, Reliability, Tangibles and Empathy.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to interpreting or implementing management policies or operating practices.
  • Demonstrated use of analysis and professional judgment, quality control and high standards. Ability to work independently to meet deadlines.

  • Excellent analytical, judgment and research skills.
  • Proven track record of meeting goals.
  • Ability to multitask with the ability to manage personal workload.
  • Team Player.
  • Extended hours sitting and performing computer tasks may be required.
